1.8 Installation of petroleum equipment

Subclass 1.8

This subclass authorizes construction work relating to installations intended to use, store or distribute a petroleum product as well as similar or related construction work.

Additional explanations

A petroleum equipment installation is a facility intended to use, store or distribute a petroleum product. A petroleum product is defined as: gasoline, diesel or biodiesel fuel, ethanol fuel, fuel oil, as well as any other liquid mixture of hydrocarbons determined by government regulation.

This subclass includes in particular construction work relating to:

  • to tanks, pipes, pipes, pumps, meters;
  • safety devices, leak detection devices, etc .;
  • vapor capture systems.

These facilities are found in gas stations, transport companies of buses, trucks, taxis, etc., in a refueling center where sales, distribution, bulk exchange or storage take place. a petroleum product or its liquid derivatives (refueling center for boats, planes, etc.), as fuel oil storage tanks for public or private buildings, etc.

NO LICENSE IS REQUIRED FOR THE WORKS:

  • maintenance and repair of equipment such as the replacement of parts (fuel pump, probes, etc.).

NB: It may nevertheless be that construction work relating to a product that is not defined as an oil product is subject to the standards of the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight against Climate Change contained in the Regulation respecting hazardous materials (RSQ, c. Q-2, r.15.2).
