Subclass 15.8

This subclass authorizes construction work which is not reserved exclusively for master pipe-mechanics and which concerns air circulation or distribution systems relating to ventilation, evacuation, air compensation. and air conditioning.

It also authorizes construction work relating to duct networks and the installation of heaters for a forced air heating system as well as construction work relating to duct networks for a forced air system. allowing heating and air conditioning.

In addition, this subclass authorizes construction work on devices allowing the heating and air conditioning of a forced air system on condition that the contractor also holds the appropriate subclass 15.9 or 15.10.

Finally, it authorizes similar or related construction work.

This subclass includes construction work in subclass 15.7.

This subclass, without going beyond the regulatory framework , authorizes in particular construction work relating to:

• when installing the forced air heater
• the installation of residential or commercial range hoods
• the installation of humidifiers, dehumidifiers, heating and cooling coils, and filters (except for electrical connection work and connection to the hydronic heating system, refrigeration system or plumbing)
• to pneumatic transport systems
• the installation of dust collectors or air cleaners connected to equipment other than building equipment
• controls and regulation except when the work concerns a heating system. This work may also fall under subclass 17.1.

Please note that this subclass does not authorize construction work relating to burners and their supply as well as those relating to the control and regulation of heating systems.

Construction work on an electrical installation is reserved exclusively for contractors or owner-builders holding subclass 16.0.

Work that does not require a license

No license is required for the work:

• monitoring, inspection, testing and verification
• cleaning of air ducts (when this work does not require construction work)
• aeraulic balancing.
