This subclass authorizes construction work which is not reserved exclusively for master pipe-mechanics and electrical contractors and which concerns solid fuel localized heating systems, such as prefabricated stoves and fireplaces, as well as construction work. similar or related construction.

Additional explanations

This subclass includes in particular construction work relating to:

• prefabricated chimneys for solid fuel heaters;
• with coal, pellet and wood stoves;
• the installation and finishing work of chimney breasts (for prefabricated fireplaces).

This subclass includes the conduits forming part of the device. However, the installation of an appliance, when connected to the building’s heat distribution network, falls under one of the following subclasses, as the case may be: 15.1, 15.1.1, 15.4, 15.4.1.

NB: Construction work on masonry fireplaces and chimneys falls under subclass 4.1.

NB: This subclass does not include construction work relating to natural gas, propane or oil appliances (supply, installation, evacuation of combustion gases).

The following subclasses are necessary for construction work on chimneys connected to:

• a propane system: 15.6;
• an oil-fired system: 15.1 or 15.1.1, 15.3 or 15.3.1, 15.4 or 15.4.1;
• a natural gas system: 15.1 or 15.1.1, 15.2 or 15.2.1, 15.4 or 15.4.1.
