EXTRACTS FROM CHAPTER V OF THE CONSTRUCTION CODE (RSQ, c. B-1.1, r. 0.01.01)

“Electrical installation”: Any installation of cabling underground, above ground or in a building, for the transmission from one point to another of energy coming from an electricity distributor or any other source of electricity. power supply, for the power supply of any electrical equipment, including the connection of the wiring to this equipment (see appendix B).1

“It is understood from the definition of” electrical installation “that the installations, either from the connection point where the electricity distributor supplies the customer, or from any other power source, up to the connection point where the device receives its energy to operate, are electrical installations within the meaning of the code. Electrical installation therefore refers to the “infrastructure” used to convey electric current to equipment that requires current to operate (device, equipment, specialized system), but not this equipment. The following are not electrical installations within the meaning of the code, in particular installations of intercommunication systems, public address, synchronized clock, visual, sound or voice signaling, installations of telephone systems, their interconnection to the telephone network, installations of closed circuit television systems, access cards, community antennas, instrumentation and control systems relating to heating, air conditioning, air evacuation, industrial processes, burglar alarm systems and fire alarm systems. “²
