Subclass 4.2

This subclass authorizes construction work that involves non-structural masonry, marble, granite, ceramics, terrazzo and other similar materials, refractory products as well as similar or related construction work.

Additional explanations

This subclass is fully included in subclass 4.1.

This subclass includes in particular construction work relating to:

• the installation of brick facing without mortar such as “Novabrik”; refractory products such as brick, concrete, grout, ceramics;
• cutting, laying, polishing marble, granite, terrazzo, slate, ceramic and terrazzo, and other similar materials;
• the repair of chimneys of all kinds;
• dividing walls (non-structural);
• preparing, restoring or finishing surfaces of buildings or civil engineering works (masonry) using sandblasting, steam or pressurized water or other special processes;
• acid masonry finishing work.

NO LICENSE IS REQUIRED FOR WORK:

• cleaning surfaces of buildings or civil engineering works. However, when the renovation work is done prior to construction work such as painting, masonry work, etc., a contractor’s license is then necessary ( 4.1 , 4.2 or 9 );
• housekeeping of floors of marble, granite, etc., using polishers and other appliances or equipment.
